Rumours are rife that the actor will portray a character with shades of grey in Bhansali’s upcoming ambitious venture that will see him share screen space with wife, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.The film, which is said to revolve around a love triangle, will be set against the backdrop of war.
Following his stellar performance in ‘Animal’, reports on Pinkvilla state that director Bhansali was mighty impressed and decided to cast him for the character which is described as very ‘complex’. While the character will be a rather grey-shaded one, he is also expected to have some underlying psychological nuances. The demanding role not only requires exceptional acting prowess, but also the aura of a superstar. SLB reportedly felt that Ranbir was the perfect fit for the part.
The official cast of the film was announced last month in the form of a social media post. The film marks Ranbir’s secon collaboration with Alia, after ‘Brahmastra’ and second with Vicky after co-starring in ‘Sanju’. On the other hand, Alia will reunite with Vicky, who played her love interest in ‘Raazi’.
‘Love and War’ is scheduled to commence shooting towards the end of 2024 with an extensive production schedule. With pre-production activities in full swing, the makers are gearing up to commence filming in to get the film ready in time for a Christmas 2025 release.
