Daya Shankar Pandey expressed his deep sorrow upon learning about the untimely demise of his dear friend, Rituraj Singh, who passed away this morning due to a cardiac arrest. Currently in Jamshedpur, Pandey conveyed his shock and stated that he would be able to meet Singh’s family once he returns to Mumbai in another 4-5 days.
Reflecting on their long-standing friendship, Pandey reminisced, “I have known Rituraj for the last 25 years, and he was a wonderful human being. We collaborated on several projects, both in TV and films. I vividly recall telling him that he was recognized in the industry primarily as Shah Rukh Khan‘s dear friend, but he was truly a kind-hearted person and an exceptional actor.”
Pandey continued, “Despite the banter and leg-pulling we engaged in, he remained positive and optimistic. I always believed he deserved more in the industry. He was not just a talented actor but also a good human being. It’s challenging to find such individuals nowadays. He will be remembered as one of the good ones.”
Sharing the origin of their friendship, Panday revealed, “We met through our mutual friend in the industry, Ravi Baswani, back in 1989 at the veteran actors’ house. Since then, our bond grew stronger. May God grant him peace. I believe he should have received the recognition he deserved, making his family proud. Despite his satisfaction with whatever he achieved, I wish he had received more. He always remained thankful to God and never harbored negativity.”
Rituraj Singh and Daya Shankar Pandey collaborated in the Bollywood film ‘Satyamev Jayate 2’ and also appeared together in notable TV serials.
