Now, according to a report from Mid-Day, an insider disclosed that starting from late March, Ranveer and Kiara will commence their physical preparations, starting with agility training. Specialists in martial arts from Thailand have been enlisted for this purpose. The source added that Farhan Akhtar is enthusiastic about elevating the film’s action sequences.
The insider further elaborated that over the past few years, Hindi cinema has witnessed a variety of stylized action, from movies like War [2019] to Pathaan [2023] and Fighter. Hence, Farhan is determined to infuse a fresh approach to the action sequences. He has engaged in numerous discussions with action choreographers from both India and abroad to explore various possibilities. His aim is to present a distinct palette, diverging from the trends set by recent blockbuster films.
Kiara Advani joins Ranveer Singh in Don 3 | Watch
Last year, Farhan Akhtar surprised everyone by releasing a teaser of Don 3, officially announcing Ranveer Singh as the new Don, replacing Shah Rukh Khan. The teaser featured an apartment setting against the stunning skyline of a city, with Ranveer Singh providing a voiceover: “Sher jo so raha hain woh jagega kab, puchte hai yeh sab. Unse keh do phir jaag utha hoon main, aur phir samne jald aane ko…” (The lion that sleeps, when will it awaken, everyone wonders. Tell them I will awaken again, and soon appear before them…)
In a later interview with BBC Asian Network, Farhan addressed the backlash he received for replacing Shah Rukh Khan in Don 3. He stated, “I’m just really looking forward to getting it going. I mean, Ranveer is amazing. He’s perfect for the part. He’s also, as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous because you’re filling some big shoes before you. But we went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh did it, and everyone was like, ‘Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?’ That whole thing happened then.”
