Despite being a box office hit film, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ has been receiving a lot of critical reviews for conveying a toxic and masculine narrative. Now, actress Khushbu Sundar has raised poignant questions about the societal impact of ‘Animal’.

Speaking at a recent conclave hosted by TV9 Bharatvarsh, Sundar refrained from blaming the director directly but emphasized the need for introspection regarding the mindset of audiences flocking to cinemas for such films. She drew parallels with previous controversies surrounding films like ‘Kabir Singh’. She prefers not to blame the director because it is just success for him.

Khushbu highlighted the importance of promoting gender equality and respect for women in public discourse, contrasting it with the themes depicted in ‘Animal’. she was not happy about her daughter watching ‘Animal’ but after the screening, her daughter shared her review by saying, “Mom, don’t watch it.” This made the actress think about the people who watched the film, and she wanted them to change their mindset.

She continued that all youngsters out there watching such movies and saying ‘Oh, we love the film’ gives her a shock, and she wants to say, ‘Guys, what’s going on in your mind?’ to all those viewers.
Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri, and Sunny Deol in leading roles, the film has earned Rs 900 crore at the box office worldwide.
