Ajay Devgn has a packed year ahead with six releases scheduled, beginning with ‘Shaitaan‘ on March 8. The film, which also features R Madhavan, Jyotika, and Janki Bodiwala, is a Hindi remake of Gujarati film ‘Vash’, with Janki reprising her role.
With just one day left for release, the advance booking for ‘Shaitaan’ has made a promising record. The film has witnessed a jump of 55 percent over Wednesday’s booking and crossed Rs 2 crore mark.This marks a strong opening for the movie on Friday. As per Sacnilk, in the last 24 hours, more than 3500 shows have been added to the tally of the film, taking the total shows to 9235. The film has currently sold nearly 88000 tickets collecting Rs 2.03 crore with Maharashtra and Delhi circuit having maximum bookings.
‘Shaitaan’ falls into the horror genre, with fans of the original terming it as one of the scariest films they’ve watched. The film’s success could encourage more attention to the often neglected horror genre in Hindi cinema. ‘Shaitaan’ has recently been certified U/A.
