Kranti Redkar took to X, formerly Twitter, to express her plight, while also making the threatening numbers public.”I have been receiving death threats on my mobile number from various Pakistani numbers and a number from the Uk. Just wanted to bring it to your kind notice 🙏 This has been happening since last one year. The police has been regularly informed,” Kranti shared, while tagging the CM of Maharashtra as well as the Mumbai police.
According to reports, Kranti’s complaint states that an unidentified caller from UK, verbally abused her and issued death threats to her and her family on March 6. Later on the same day, she reportedly received derogatory messages on WhatsApp from a number that appeared to be from Pakistan. According to the complaint, there was a photograph of an Aadhaar card belonging to a man named Iqbal Hussain from Assam on the Pakistani WhatsApp number.
Reacting to the complaint, the police confirmed ANI, “Actress Kranti Redkar wife of former Mumbai NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede received death threats, and obscene messages coming from Pakistani numbers, Sameer Wankhede’s wife has lodged her complaint at Goregaon Police Station.” Further investigation in the matter is underway.
