Kej, in a series of Tweets, shared his harrowing experience after staying at a budget hotel and expressed his disappointment with the substandard conditions, which included untrained staff, cockroaches in the room, faulty plumbing and dirty toilet drains.
In his initial tweet, he mentioned his decision to stay at the hotel was fuelled by its proximity to the Mumbai Airport. However, he fumed that his stay turned out to be far from satisfactory, listing down the various issues ranging from cleanliness to service quality.
“Bad experience once in the past, tried giving them a second chance. Unfortunately – untrained staff right from the check-in counters, cockroaches in the room, faulty plumbing, non existent laundry pickups, dirty toilet drains, Etc. I really hope they improve.. for the sake of the group,” he said.
Accompanying his tweets were photos and videos of his claims, including a clip showing a cockroach running around in his room. In the clip, he says, “A happy wandering cockroach in my room @stayatginger hotel at Mumbai Airport. I was told it would be a single occupancy room. Hahhaha.”
He also alleged that a laundry bill was submitted to him and insisted that it was “completely fictitious” detailing, “Yesterday, I did call for laundry at 2 pm – no one arrived at my room to pick up laundry. I waited 45 min and gave up. So there was no laundry done!”
In response to his tweets, the hotel’s official Twitter account extended apologies for the inconvenience caused during his stay and promised to investigate the matter.
