Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor starrer ‘Fighter‘ released in cinemas on Republic Day. The film crossed Rs 300 crore mark at the worldwide box office and Rs 200 crore net at the Indian box office. While it got rave reviews, the box office numbers were not considered up to the mark because it was mounted on a very high budget of Rs 250 crores.
Despite its strengths like a captivating soundtrack and the fresh pairing of Hrithik and Deepika, along with impressive aerial sequences, ‘Fighter’ failed to strike a chord with viewers, resulting in a lackluster box office performance. This was also Hrithik and Sidharth Anand‘s collaboration post the success of ‘WAR’. Now ‘Fighter’ s set to release on OTT.
As per a report in ABP News, the film is set to release on Netflix on March 21. The film will be streamed with an extended version and hence the audience can now watch it on OTT with the deleted scenes which were not included in the theatrical cut.
The songs – ‘Ishq Jaisa Kuch’ and ‘Bekaar Dil’ were cut from the movie as suggested by the censor board. Though, later, after many days of release, ‘Bekaar Dil’ was added. So, it is expected that the online version will have both these songs.
Many trade experts felt that the film lacked the mass appeal and only did well in the multiplexes. Hence, it’s expected that it will have a great response on its OTT release. ‘Fighter’ directed by Sidharth Anand, also starred Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi.
