Amid ongoing speculation surrounding her absence, Kate Middleton captured widespread media attention during her 2016 visit to India. Accompanied by her husband, Prince William, the Duchess graced a charity ball at Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, where she was warmly received amidst a constellation of Bollywood celebrities.
Shah Rukh, describing his experience of meeting Kate and William, told PTI, “It was very nice. They are so elegant and beautiful. It was really nice to see them (sic).” He called the opportunity of introducing the British couple, “an honour.” “There will be lot of actors and friends so it will be fun. I think it’s a big honour to be there and introduce them and be nice (sic),” he added.

As per an NDTV report, Shah Rukh Khan found himself at a loss for words due to his limited knowledge of food. “At dinner, I tried to explain the dishes they were eating. I don’t know food very well and one time I tried to explain what ‘paalak’ (spinach) is in English. I was looking around for someone to tell me what paalak is in English. I didn’t want to disappoint them with my lack of knowledge of food,” confessed SRK.

The Duchess of Cambridge appeared resplendent in a royal blue Jenny Packham ensemble adorned with beads and sequins, subtly incorporating an Indian touch into her attire. Her elegant presence exuded warmth as she joined William, who opted for a classic tuxedo.
Bollywood celebs who made their presence felt at the do included celebrities like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Karan Johar, Anil Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Manish Malhotra, among others.

Madhuri, accompanied by her husband Dr. Shriram Nene, expressed delight in meeting Prince William and Kate Middleton. Describing them as gracious and down-to-earth, she deemed the event as a truly memorable night. Despite its brevity, the Gala dinner left a lasting impression on her.
Following an announcement from Kensington Palace regarding Kate’s temporary hiatus from royal duties due to surgery, speculation and conspiracy theories regarding her disappearance have circulated widely. Amidst controversy surrounding a digitally altered Mother’s Day photo, a recent viral video surfaced showing Kate appearing “happy, relaxed, and healthy” during a visit to a farm shop, adding fuel to the ongoing discussions.
