With only a day left for its release, Randeep Hooda‘s directorial debut, ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar‘, is still struggling to get its censorship certificate.
A source said, “CBFC (the Central Board of Film Certification) has not cleared the Marathi release of Savarkar. The Hindi censorship is still in process. The film is slated to release tomorrow, March 22.CBFC is asking for last-minute changes in the film.”
The source adds, “The Marathi version of the film was tracking well in the trade and cannot be released tomorrow as the application for that will be accepted only after the Hindi version is cleared by CBFC.”
Randeep Hooda lost almost 30 kg for the role, faced a life scare during the making, and will incur a big revenue loss if the Marathi version is delayed. As it is, it has lost the benefit of advance booking as word of mouth was good.
