The much-anticipated Bollywood film, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan‘, featuring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, kicked off its theatrical run, amassing Rs 15 crore on its opening day.
Anticipation was rife regarding the film’s box office performance, and it did not disappoint, making a double-digit start debut earnings. Early estimates suggest that ‘BMCM’ raked in approximately Rs 15.50 crore in net collections across India on its inaugural day, setting the stage for a promising run ahead.
As fans flocked to theatres on the festival of Eid, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ commanded a solid 30.35% occupancy rate in Hindi territories, with major cities such as Chennai, Mumbai, Jaipur, and Lucknow witnessing the highest footfalls.The film not only enjoyed a wide release, but also left fans spoilt for choice with its multiple viewing formats. The film was also dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

However, it must be noted that the film did not enjoy a solo release, but rather battled it out with 3 other new releases. ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ shared its business with Ajay Devgn‘s Bollywood venture, ‘Maidaan’, which amassed an estimated Rs 7.1 crore on its opening day. Additionally, Mollywood releases ‘Aavesham’ and ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ posed stiff competition, clocking in earnings of approximately Rs 3.8 crore and Rs 2.8 crore, respectively.

With a budget exceeding Rs 350 crore, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ still has a long way to go to recover its cost. In contrast, Devgn’s ‘Maidaan’ has a much lesser budget of around Rs 100 crore.
Helmed by director Ali Abbas Zafar, the film boasts an ensemble cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manushi Chhillar, Alaya Furniturewala, Sonakshi Sinha, and Ronit Roy.
