‘HanuMan’, starring Teja Sajja, was directed by Prasanth Varma, who took viewers by surprise in January 2024. The movie was a huge hit in Telugu and Hindi, and there is a lot of talk about the sequel, ‘Jai HanuMan’. Although it’s still a work in progress, the reports are doing the rounds on the internet that Prasanth Varma and Ranveer Singh are talking about a massively budgeted period film that is set against the backdrop of Indian mythology.
A source close to development revealed to Pinkvilla that Ranveer Singh is a devoted admirer of Prasanth Varma’s work and had the pleasure of meeting him shortly after the release of ‘Hanuman’. Upon viewing Hanuman, Ranveer expressed great enthusiasm and admiration for the film. The esteemed director and actor have engaged in discussions regarding a potential collaboration on a high-budget project for the past three months. They have convened on multiple occasions and are currently in ongoing negotiations. Ranveer has wholeheartedly embraced the ambitious nature of the proposed project and has given his initial approval for the film. The team is now in the process of finalizing the necessary details to commence production.
The source went on to say that Prasanth is attempting to make one of the most ambitious Indian feature films. “Ranveer knows that such projects are challenging, and needs backing from strong producers and studios. While he is bowled over by the concept, script pre-visualization, and vision, he wants to announce the film once all the factors are covered. He is well aware of the budgets that the film needs, and hence is working with Prashanth to close in all the deals,” the source informed. He further added that Ranveer is filling in too because Prasanth is new to the film industry and hasn’t had much interaction with production companies.
Right now, Ranveer and Prasanth are in discussions about the idea with a number of companies, including T Series, Viacom 18, and Jio companies. If all goes according to plan, the proposal will soon be put on paper. Although there was some speculation in the industry that Ranveer and Prasanth were working together on ‘Jai HanuMan’, however, it was reported that the film in question is a unique historical drama with a mythical flair.
