This update comes after the Bhuj Police on Tuesday morning put out a statement claiming that the men in their custody were the two alleged gunmen on the run after the events that transpired outside Salman’s Bandra residence.
A press release stated that the West Kachchh Police arrested two individuals associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who were responsible for firing outside the actor’s residence. It claimed, “The operation was executed entirely by the Bhuj police.”
The note further stated that the two men “have been handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch for thorough interrogation.”
The accused Gupta and Pal, both residents of Bihar, were nabbed in Gujarat based on technical surveillance collected by joint teams of the Kutch-West and
Mumbai police.
It has been reported that both were hired by imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi to open fire at Khan’s house. While Pal reportedly fired the four bullets, one of which hit the actor’s building wall, Gupta was in touch with the gang members. The findings of the case were made public by Deputy Inspector General of Kutch-West, Mahendra Bagadiya in an official statement.
A video of the cops walking with the two men in handcuffs was also shared online with various news agencies. Reports on Tuesday morning also stated that both Guupta and Pal will be produced before the court.
According to the Bandra Police, an FIR has been registered against the two under sections 307 (attempted murder) of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act.
