“It’s great and absolutely fantastic. I feel very lucky,” Aditi told as she talked about her engagement.
The two actors announced their engagement through a social media post in March.
Aditi has many reasons to celebrate. She is receiving a lot of accolades for her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’.
The ‘Padmaavat’ actor is happy to reunite with Bhansali and said that it is an incredible experience to work with him.
“He creates such beautiful, immersive worlds. He gets the best out of his actors. What makes ‘Heeramandi’ so special is that there are so many stories to tell and each about a very unique woman. And Sanjay Sir really gives a lot of dignity to his female characters and their stories,” she said.
“He believes every woman, despite where she comes from, deserves to be treated like a queen. And her story is worth telling with a lot of dignity, pride and courage. So, to be a part of ‘Heeramandi’ and to be with Sanjay Sir, to surrender to him, to learn from him was incredible and I feel very blessed for it. I love Sanjay Sir and it was amazing working with him,” she added.
Pakistani netizens reveal real ‘Heeramandi’ after Sanjay Leela Bhansali series premiere
Through the stories of courtesans and their patrons, the series delves deep into the cultural reality of Heeramandi. The series features Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, Taha Shah Badussha, Shekhar Suman, and Adhyayan Suman.
For Aditi, it was a learning experience to work with a team of such talented actors. “It was very valuable for me to work with incredible people. Also, it was surreal for me to work with Manisha Ma’am, Sonakshi, Richa, Sanjeeda. There were so many people on sets who were incredible. We all wanted the best for each other.”
“Manisha ma’am is so kind and encouraging. Similarly, Sanjeeda, Sharmin, Taha, Fardeen (Khan), they are all great and incredible,”
Aditi plays a strong character of Bibbojaan in the series. The stunning actor believes in giving her best.
“I surrendered completely to Sanjay Sir. I surrendered to his vision. I surrendered to his script. For me, the preparation was to work on my language. I have to speak Urdu in a way that looks natural. Muneera Ma’am was our diction coach and she was very particular about our pronunciation.”
She also learnt Kathak for the series. “My other preparation was I’ve learned Bharatanatyam since I was five. So that is what is my muscle memory and so to break that into Kathak, that, and also authentic Kathak, not the kind, we see today. So that was my preparation, to make sure that when I come on set, I can take the direction and I can make my director proud.”
Aditi is looking forward to some of her exciting projects.
“I have ‘Lioness’, which is an Indo-British production. It is headlined by two girls. There is Paige Sandhu from the UK. It’s about the suffragette movement and I think a lot of people are very excited about it. So I’m so looking forward to starting that. I’m also in preparation, leaving for Cannes with L’Oreal very soon. So I’m prepping for the work to be done there for that,” she said.
‘Heeramandi’ is streaming on Netflix.
