Shakun Batra lauds Deepika Padukone’s balance between stardom and personal life: ‘Her family is really important to her’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Director Shakun Batra recently opened up about his views on Deepika Padukone, shedding light on her strengths and approach to navigating the entertainment industry.
In a discussion with Ranveer Allahbadia, Shakun talked about Deepika’s resilience and grounded nature, and revealed that her choice to reside in Prabhadevi is a conscious decision to stay connected to her roots and avoid getting overwhelmed by the industry’s noise.He also pointed out Deepika’s ability to separate stardom from her daily life.
“There’s a reason she lives in Prabha Devi. She wanted to make sure she doesn’t get lost in the noise of the industry. She surrounds herself with people who are from outside of the industry, you know, her family is really important to her. You can see she can very easily cut out the stardom from her day-to-day life,” Shakun said.

He then expressed fascination with how the industry structure often elevates actors onto pedestals, leading to a perception of superiority that can challenge one’s sense of self-esteem. “What I’ve always found fascinating is just the way the industry is structured, movies are structured, they put you on a pedestal and then what happens is you start to, you have to start at some level believing that you’re better than the others and it depends how real you want to stay or how much you want to give into that sense of self-esteem, which I think is a false self-esteem,” he shared.

Shakun Batra and Deepika Padukone collaborated for the first time on celluloid in their 2022 film Gehraiyaan, which also features Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, Deepika is all set to welcome her first child with Ranveer Singh. The couple tied the knot in November 2018, in both traditional Konkani and Sindhi ceremonies in Italy. They announced their pregnancy earlier this year and revealed that their baby is due in September.
Recently, fans of Ranveer were disappointed after they noticed that the actor ‘deleted’ the wedding pictures with Deepika from his Instagram account. Later, his team clarified that Ranveer has archived his earlier posts. Amid the frenzy, the couple’s rare picture surfaced online where Deepika was seen flaunting her baby bump. They returned to Mumbai on Thursday and were spotted arriving at the Mumbai airport.
