Maidaan box office: Ajay Devgn starrer finally crosses Rs.50 crore mark on its 29th day – Times of India

Ajay Devgn’s second release of the year, Maidaan has finally crossed the Rs 50 crore landmark at the box office. The year which began on a good note for the actor with the success of Shaitaan as the film minted more than Rs 150 crore at the box office, saw a dip with its second film. The film which released recently has been getting underwhelming response from the day of its release, directed by Amit Sharma, Maidaan was made on a massive budget, which ballooned even more due to Covid-19 delays and other natural disasters around shooting locations.
In its extended first week, Maidaan earned Rs 28.35 crore. While in the second week, the film collected Rs 10.25 crore, in the third week it earned Rs 7.3 crore and on the last day of the fourth week the film managed to cross the Rs 50 crore mark by minting Rs 40 lakh on Thursday, states a report in Sacnilk. Moreover, in the fourth week, the film contributed about Rs 4.6 crore to its kitty, taking the total collection of the film to Rs 50.20 crore.

The film will now face competition from Rajkummar Rao’s Srikanth which has been getting rave reviews and the big budgeted and highly awaited Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. The film is a sequel to the War of the Planet of the Apes and the fourth film in the Planet of the Apes franchise.
The actor is now currently busy wrapping up the shoot for Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again and Raj Kumar Gupta’s Raid 2 with Ritiesh Deshmukh, post which he will start work on a series of sequels from De De Pyaar De to Son of Sardaar and a few more.
