Trust Rajkummar Rao to deliver the most nuanced acts and he never disappoints. The seasoned star’s latest offering, ‘Srikanth‘, has been wooing audiences in theatres since the past two week, enjoying a dream at a time when several biggies have failed to make a mark.
After an opening Rs 5.25 crore, ‘Srikanth’ swiftly moved through the first week with Rs 17.85 crore.Following up with the decent run, the film added another Rs 13.65 crore to its total. On its second Friday, ‘Srikanth’ added another Rs 1.20 crore to its total, which now stands at Rs 32.70 crore, reports Sacnilk. Despite the release of Manoj Bajpayee starrer ‘Bhaiyya Ji’ on Friday, Rajkummar’s film has managed to hold its ground.
Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film narrates the real life journey of a visually challenged businessman. Speaking about the project, Rajkummar had previously told PTI, “love challenges. And, something that scares me excites me even more. And ‘Srikanth’ did that to me. I’ve never played a visually impaired man before. I didn’t know if I would be able to do it. But that’s the fun where you push yourself out of your comfort zone. There was so much research that had to be done. Whenever I get an opportunity like that, I totally cherish it.”
Post ‘Srikanth’, Rajkummar Rao will be seen in ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’, which is all set to hit the screens on May 31.
