Raaj Grover Death News: Producer Raaj Grover of iconic films ‘Taaqat’ and ‘Thikana’, passes away at 87 | – Times of India


Raaj Grover‘s sudden demise has shattered all, the veteran producer passed away at the age of 87 at his Old Bridge, New Jersey, home on June 4. He reportedly passed away peacefully while sleeping and hadn’t recently experienced any health problems.
The producer of Arya moved to the USA some years ago but still visits India occasionally to meet friends from the industry.Known for his lively personality, Grover’s laughter in all his talks is cherished by his admirers. His famous saying, “Grover never over,” will always stay in our memories.
In his career, Raaj is best known for producing the 1982 film ‘Taaqat,’ starring Vinod Khanna and Parveen Babi, directed by Narendra Bedi. He also co-produced the 1987 film ‘Thikana’ with Paul Arora and V.B. Soni. The film featured Anil Kapoor and Smita Patil in the lead roles, supported by Amrita Singh, Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher, Suresh Oberoi, Rohini Hattangadi, and Avtar Gill in significant roles.
In addition, Raaj Grover backed the 2003 psychological thriller ‘Arya’, which starred Rajan Gangahar, Manvi Dhoopar, Manan Katohora, and Pooja Mohindra. Do you recall Sunil Dutt’s movie ‘Nehle Peh Dehlaa’ from 11976? Additionally, Raaj co-produced it.
‘Nehle Peh Dehlaa’, which was directed by Raj Khosla, featured a cast of actors including Saira Banu, Vinod Khanna, Bindu, Premnath, Ranjeet, Trilok Kapoor, and Dev Kumar. He also published a book in 2018 called The Legends Of Bollywood, which was a compelling collection of memoirs and stories about the who’s who of Bollywood.
The book featured stories of former celebrities, such as a visit to Amitabh Bachchan’s very first film test, Badruddin Jamaluddin Kazi’s baptism into Johnny Walker, Dharmendra’s journey from tractor driver to legendary actor, and Dimple Kapadia‘s iconic return to the industry.
Raaj Grover, who was a production-in-charge at Mumbai’s Ajanta Arts (owned by Sunil Dutt), has witnessed celebrated births, lamented deaths, secret romances, and controversial moments, all chronicled in his book. The book includes several never-before-seen pictures and stories drawn from Grover’s memories.
