Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2988 AD’ , which stars names like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and Dulquer Salmaan seems to have caught the fancy of the audience in North America. The makers are yet to release the trailer of the film, which is due to release on June 10, but the advance booking for the film has taken the box office by storm.It has only been three days since the booking began, on the first day the booking had opened in just a select few locations, but going by the response, the numbers of screens and locations has jumped many folds. The film is going to release on 27th June.
The film has currently sold more than 14000 tickets in the United States of America from nearly 319 locations and almost 1300 shows. The total amount of advance sales currently stands at US $ 435,338 ( Rs 3.63 crore). And to this if the sale of tickets from Canada circuit are also added, then the total advance collection reaches US $ 470,000 ( Rs3.92 crore). ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ follows the long list of films from South Indian film industry like RRR, Bahubali series, KGF franchise, Pushpa: The Fire, Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire which took the North American circuit by storm in a big way thus setting up the stage for the next round of big budget films.
