The film, in its first week earned Rs 35.3 crore, and entered the second weekend on a good note where it collected Rs 3.5 crore on Friday, followed by a 10 % drop on Thursday. But on Saturday, the film jumped by over 85 % to collect Rs 6.5 crore, and on Sunday it jumped more than 20 % to collect Rs 8.5 crore as per early estimates by Sacnilk, thus taking the 10 day total of the film to Rs 53. 80 crore. The film was expected to cross the Rs 50 crore mark over the 2nd week, but it was able to reach that figure within the second weekend itself.
The film is surely going to give a boost to everyone involved in the project, from the actors to the director Aditya Sarpotdar who had the vision and the belief that a story based on Maharastrian folklore can be told for a pan-India audience and will be accepted. The film is expected to have a smooth run at the box office till next week, which sees the release of Rohit Saraf’s Ishq Vishq Rebound, co-starring Pashmina Roshan and Jibraan Khan.
