Singer Badshah on his divorce from ex-wife Jasmine Masih: ‘She could not adjust to the culture, and it got really messy’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Badshah and Jasmine Masih were married for around eight years before they separated amicably in 2020. In a recent interview, Badshah opened up about their relationship. He shared that they initially connected through Facebook and later met at a mutual friend’s party in Chandigarh. After dating for about a year and a half, they tied the knot in 2012. Despite their deep affection for each other, their relationship eventually did not work out.
In a chat with Lallantop, the singer revealed that his parents initially supported his marriage to Jasmine Masih but voiced concerns about potential cultural differences due to her upbringing in London. These concerns were realized, as the couple faced difficulties adjusting to each other’s cultures, leading to complications in their relationship. Despite their efforts, they struggled to make it work. “She could not adjust to the culture, and it got really messy. But we tried our best in that relationship,” he added.

Dipti Devi: Embracing collaborations with friends and loved ones

Badshah and Jasmine have a daughter named Jessamy Grace Masih Singh. Badshah noted that both his ex-wife and daughter practice Christianity and enjoy his song ‘Paani Paani.’ He also mentioned that Jessamy is a big fan of the South Korean music group Blackpink.
When asked if he has lost faith in marriage, Badshah described it as a flawed concept in the modern era, suggesting that it needs some changes. He believes there is significant pressure associated with marriage and advises that people should only marry after thoughtful consideration and maturity. “A relationship is a duty, a full-time job. To co-exist with someone who has an opinion is a full-time job, especially when you are strongly opinionated,” he concluded.
