Director Anubhav Sinha recently spoke on his experience of working with superstar Shah Rukh Khan on the science fiction film ‘Ra.One‘ that came out in 2011.
Anubhav Sinha said that during their collaboration he was ‘enamored’ by Shah Rukh, which made his decisions slightly biased.
In an interview with Mashable, Sinha revealed how he stuck with Shah Rukh Khan the moment they discussed the project.”I am one of those people who would never question anything SRK says,” he shared.
Further, Sinha shared an anecdote about how Shah Rukh played a pivotal role in bringing international artist Akon on board for the film’s soundtrack. When Vishal-Shekhar suggested Akon as the perfect voice for a song, Sinha discussed the idea with Shah Rukh, who took the initiative to reach out to the singer. To Sinha’s surprise, Shah Rukh arranged a meeting with Akon at a nightclub in Times Square, leading to the collaboration that produced two hit tracks.
Sinha said he really cherishes the experience of working with Shah Rukh and admits to having been carried away sometimes with his adoration for the superstar. He said he has had a far better learning experience that will stay in his memory and thus, he doesn’t count the shortcomings that led to the box office failure of the movie.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan was spotted yesterday morning at the airport as he headed for a Dubai event. His spotting videos and pictures went viral on social media.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming projects are generating quite a buzz. His collaboration with his daughter Suhana Khan in the action-thriller ‘King’, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, is one of the most talked about projects. The film will mark Suhana’s big-screen debut alongside her father after her OTT debut in ‘The Archies’. Set to commence filming in January 2025, the film is anticipated to be a full-length thriller centered around just two characters with Abhishek Bachchan playing the antagonist. The film is expected to hit theaters by mid-2026.
Additionally, Shah Rukh Khan will reunite with his sons Aryan and AbRam in a live-action adaptation of ‘Mufasa: The Lion King,’ lending their voices to key characters.
