Will Shah Rukh Khan return to voice ‘Mufasa’? ‘The Lion King’ prequel to clash with ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ and ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ | – Times of India

Late Monday night, fans of the Disney classic ‘The Lion King‘ were treated to the first trailer of the live-action prequel ‘Mufasa’. The clip gave fans a gist of the story of the ‘orphan’ and ‘outsider’ who went on to become the ‘King’ in this touching tale, that will give fans a background on the story of Mufasa and his rival Scar.
Meanwhile, fans in India were abuzz with speculation regarding the potential return of Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan to lend his voice to the beloved character of Mufasa, much like he did for the 2019 live-action Hindi dubbed version of ‘The Lion King’.The actor’s portrayal of the noble lion in the timeless classic garnered widespread acclaim and helped the film shoot past the Rs 150 crore mark at the domestic box office.

Speculation has since been rife regarding SRK’s possible involvement in the project. While in 2019, SRK teamed up with his elder son Aryan Khan to voice Simba, fans have been eager to know if the makers would consider casting AmRam Khan to voice the young Mufasa.

Check out some of the fan tweets below:

Should the makers manage this casting coupe, it will be something to look forward to, considering that the English version of the film features Beyonce with daughter Blue Ivy Carter in the voice cast. While Blue already has a Grammy to her name, this film will mark her voice acting debut.

As far as the box office is concerned, the Christmas 2024 release has triggered a wave of excitement and worry among trade gurus as it will be a clash of epic proportions. Should Shah Rukh lend his voice to the film, it would see the star going up against

Akshay Kumar‘s comedy ‘Welcome To The Jungle‘ and Aamir Khan‘s drama ‘Sitaare Zameen Par‘.
With both Akshay and Aamir hoping to recover from major box office failures, with their respective films – Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Laal Singh Chaddha – it is likely that they may avoid a clash. However, we will have to wait till December to find out.
