French-Indian DJ and educator Rummy Sharma is brining back electronic music education, production and performance camp The Bootcamp Goa this week, bringing together over 30 artists, managers and more in Morjim between Mar. 17 to Mar. 29, 2025.

Sharma is enlisting top electronic artists to mentor and lead masterclasses at The Bootcamp Goa 2025, including Nucleya, Berlin-based veteran artist Robert Babicz, Ankytrixx, BLOT, Murthovic with Thiruda, Bullzeye, DotDat, Hybrid Protokol, Zequenx, Film and more. Music company MGMH’s Ritnika Nayan also joins to lead a module on music business and management.

The Bootcamp Goa kicks off with Basics Week, offering courses on learning the ropes digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Ableton, Logic Pro and Traktor, plus “hardware-based” courses on DJing and turntablism. Advanced Week, which runs from Mar. 24 to Mar. 29, includes deeper dives into DAWs as well as courses about sound design, video game sound, mixing and mastering, music business and creating your own MIDI controller workshop.

The camp will take in 10 applicants for Basics Week and 30 participants for Advanced Week, with prices for each module ranging from ₹45,000 to ₹75,000 (the Traktor Pro module is priced at ₹30,000), with additional charges for accommodation and meals.

In addition to the masterclasses and sessions, participants enrolled in season four (or the previous season) of The Bootcamp Goa also get a chance to secure a performance spot at the Rave The Planet parade in Berlin in July 2025. A committee will select three students from The Bootcamp Goa and give them a performance slot at the parade.

Additionally, one of the tracks produced at The Bootcamp Goa will also make it into the Rave The Planet compilation. Widening the international scope of the camp, Thailand’s Wonderfruit Festival curator Phuong Le will also speak about festival programming, artist booking and more.

Rummy Sharma says in a statement, “The Bootcamp concept evolved from my long history in teaching, starting in the Nineties with Studio Beacons. Over the years, I’ve seen how technology, consumption, and the way music is produced and performed have all drastically changed. Living in Europe, where competition in DJing and music production is fierce, it became clear to me that in order to stand out, one has to be different. You need to perform in a unique way, develop your own special character, and offer something that truly sets you apart.” His way of “giving back to the scene,” Sharma says The Bootcamp Goa allows him to bring in professionals from around the world. “They will help guide the younger generation, showing them the right path so they can build a bigger, better career with the right knowledge and mentorship,” he adds.
