Actress Angelina Jolie is “relieved” that her divorce with actor Brad Pitt has finally settled after eight years, according to Page Six.
“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,” Jolie’s lawyer James Simon told Page Six in a statement.
“This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over,” the statement continued. Pitt has not publicly commented on the agreement.

According to Page Six, Jolie and Pitt first met in 2005 while filming the spy thriller “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” At the time, Pitt was married to actress Jennifer Aniston.
Ultimately the couple built a family that consisted of three biological and three adopted children. However, the marriage spectacularly broke up amidst accusations against Pitt about behavior on a plane ride, although he was never charged in connection with it.
In 2016, Jolie filed for divorce, according to Page Six, and child custody battles, as well as a lawsuit over the couple’s wine estate, commenced.

According to the Associated Press, a judge will still need to “sign off” on the agreement between the two that ended the divorce.
The court documents have yet to be filed, AP reported.In 2019, a judge declared Pitt and Jolie “divorced and single” but the case chugged on due to issues relating to “the splitting of assets and child custody,” AP reported.
The couple used a private judge, according to the AP, and the details of the agreement are not clear as a result. Most of the couple’s children turned into adults as the child custody disputes between the warring ex-couple proceeded. At one point, Jolie was successfully able to remove a judge from the case who had declared that the two should have equal custody of the children, AP reported.
