In a lengthy post that featured a childhood photo of him with his father, Trace wrote that he idolized his dad and that the day the singer adopted him was “the happiest day” of his life. He then expressed concern over Cyrus’ recent behavior, despite not seeing him in person recently.
“I love you Dad,” Trace wrote. “I’d love to help you if you would open up and receive the help. You know how to reach me. Till that day comes I will continue to pray for you.”
Cyrus, 63, and his ex-wife Tish are parents to Miley, Braison, and Noah Cyrus, as well as Brandi and Trace, Cyrus’ adopted children from his wife’s previous relationship. Cyrus also has a son, Christopher, from his past relationship with Kristen Luckey.

“Trace had a lot of messiness when he was younger and I’m glad he’s trying to help his father,” another commenter added.
“He’s a good son, saying my prayers for his dad and that they all can reconnect one day,” another wrote.
As of this writing, Cyrus has not publicly responded to his son’s post about offering him help. While his son did not specify what his father was possibly going through, In the past, Cyrus swore off drugs and alcohol.
According to Classic Country Music, in a 2022 podcast interview with Bobby Bones, Cyrus talked about his past substance abuse struggles and claimed he went so far as to quit drinking cold turkey and to throw drugs in the river so he wouldn’t be tempted. “I don’t ever want to be tempted by it because it never goes away,” he said.
Billy Ray Cyrus Said He Would Not Have Missed the Liberty Ball for Anything
Trace Cyrus’ concerns seemingly stemmed from his dad’s Inauguration Day performance at the Liberty Ball in Washington, D.C. Not only was the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer’s voice shaky, but his appearance was a bit disheveled. Cyrus’ performance was also riddled with technical problems that were not his fault.
At one point, Cyrus asked if any of the techs were “awake” backstage. “Is anybody back there? Can somebody turn my guitar back on?” he asked.
“Y’all want me to sing more or you want me to just get the hell off the stage?” he asked the audience. He later wandered around the stage and appeared to be escorted off.
But Cyrus maintained he had a great time, despite the technical difficulties. “I wouldn’t have missed the honor of playing this event whether my microphone, guitar and monitors worked or not,” the two-time Grammy winner wrote in a January 21 Instagram post, nothing that he was personally invited to the gala by the president.
“I had a ball at the Liberty Ball last night,” Cyrus added. “I’ve learned through all these years when the producer says, ‘You’re on,’ you go entertain the folks even if the equipment goes to hell. I was there for the people, and we had a blast. That’s called rock n roll!!!”
