Ally Lewber confirmed that she has ended her relationship with James Kennedy, but that she will always support him.
In a post to her Instagram story on January 22, Lewber shared that she was “happy” to learn that Kennedy will not face criminal charges for a December 2024 incident at the California home she once shared with the DJ.
“I am happy that prosecutors decided not to file James, as I never desired criminal charges,” Lewber wrote to fans. “We had an argument outside of his home related to him drinking again, however, I was not physically hurt. I was shocked by the headlines and disheartened by how the event was portrayed.”
“We are no longer together, but I will always support James and wish him the best with his sobriety and healing,” Lewber added.
Lewber and Kennedy had been dating since early 2022 and lived together in Burbank, California.

On December 10, 2024, Kennedy was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence and released on bail following a night out with Lewber at Kathy Hilton’s Christmas party.
On January 22, Kennedy’s attorney Scott Leemon told CNN that Kennedy had been cleared in the incident. “I was just informed by the Burbank City Attorney’s Office that no charges will be filed against James Kennedy,” Leemon said in a statement. “I want to thank them for conducting a thorough and professional review of the matter involving my client. Their diligent investigation confirmed what we have maintained from the beginning – there were no grounds for any charges to be filed against Mr. Kennedy.”
Leemon also shared that Kennedy “is grateful to have this matter behind him and is looking forward to continuing to focus on his sobriety and his DJ career.”
As of this writing, Kennedy has not publicly commented on the situation.
Ally Lewber Previously Told Fans She Was Okay
Lewber’s new statement is only the second time she has directly addressed the situation with Kennedy. According to The New York Post, on December 14 she gave fans an update on her Instagram Story, writing, “Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and support and for checking on me. I’m okay and taking the time I need right now. I deeply appreciate all the kindness and respect for my privacy at this time.”
In photos obtained by Page Six a few days later, Kennedy was seen helping Lewber carry items from their home into her car.
Around that same time, Kennedy also posted on his Instagram story with a pledge to focus on his sobriety after the slip-up. “I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life,” the “Vanderpump Rules” alum wrote, per OK magazine. “I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones.”
In early January, Kennedy shared a photo of nine chips from Alcoholics Anonymous which showed his ongoing commitment to his sobriety.
Lewber’s statement about her split from Kennedy came just after a source told the US Sun that the two were still in communication. “They still talk and check in with each other, but Ally is living her own life. She’s focusing on her own peace and healing and her astrology career, and James is not her priority right now,” the insider told the outlet.
