Season 29 “Dancing With the Stars” champ Kaitlyn Bristowe underwent elective surgery on her eyes last week. The former “Bachelorette” lead had a Blepharoplasty, also known as an eye lift.
“A lot going on at the Bristowe residence,” the Mirrorball Trophy winner captioned an Instagram post on December 7. In the upload, she included a photo of herself in the hospital, a pic of her dog Ramen with a shaved side and a line of stitches, a video of her dog Pinot trying to eat while laying on the floor, and a video of a back hoe digging up her yard.
“All 3 of us have stitches. I got an upper bleph (take it to your group chat if you wanna be negative).Ramen had a fatty tumor removed. (Please pray for it to come back normal). Pinot had a tooth pulled. (He was so high when he came home he had to eat laying down). And my back yard is torn up!! (Which means dogs go on leashes every time they have to go, even if it’s 3am),” she wrote.
Bristowe appeared to be in good spirits judging by the subsequent posts on her Instagram Stories. Her surgery didn’t keep her down for too long, however, as she posted videos of herself up and about.
Kaitlyn Bristowe Received a Great Deal of Support From Fans Following Her Surgery
Dozens of fans took to the comments section of Bristowe’s post to react. Many wanted more information about the bleph surgery.
“Can u please share about your surgery as I really want one. Was it painful and how is recovery? Wishing u the very the best,” one person wrote.
“I NEED to know more on the upper bleph. I’ve been contemplating for a YEAR,” someone else added.
“My upper eyelids are droopy and it’s gonna get worse as I get older so I am open to the Upper Bleph (no clue that’s what it’ was called!). Would love to hear your experience,” a third comment read.
“Omgosh excited to see the healing process and results. I want one too,” a fourth Instagram user said.
Kaitlyn Bristowe Gave Fans an Update
Bristowe decided to share a bit more information with fans on social media after an onslaught of questions. The reality star took to her Instagram Stories to explain a bit about what she had done — and why.
“I’ve been wanting to do this for years and years,” Bristowe said in a video. She also wanted fans who may be squeamish not to watch as both of her eyelids were swollen, red, and had visible stitches.
“I had really droopy on my left side eyelids and somewhat droopy on my right side. So, what they do is they just cut the eyelid and then sew it a little more open,” she said.
“It’s one of the easiest surgeries for healing time and very quick and very pain free. My eyes are just irritated and itchy, but this is day two and I will keep you guys updated,” she added.
According to the Mayo Clinic, a Blepharoplasty “removes excess skin from the eyelids.” It’s performed on patients for a number of reasons, including vision problems due to skin getting in the way of eyesight, aging, and aesthetics, to name a few.
