Former “American Idol” colleagues Luke Bryan and Katy Perry have big plans for the summer of 2025, both unveiling their U.S. concert tours on the morning of January 27.
Four minutes after Perry’s team sent an email to fans announcing her “Lifetimes” tour concert dates, Bryan’s fans received an email unveiling his “Country Song Came On” tour. General tickets to both tours will go on sale on January 31 at 10 a.m. local time, forcing fans who love both artists to choose which tickets to go for that morning.

In September, Perry released her sixth album, “143,” after receiving harsh reviews from fans and critics for the first single off the album, “Woman’s World.” But according to Variety, her world tour has already sold out in four continents, with dates in Australia, Mexico, Europe, and Canada announced before her U.S. dates.
Perry, 40, will kick off the world tour in Mexico City on April 23. The 24 concert dates she has scheduled in the U.S. will begin in Houston on May 7. Her tour has her performing around the world through November 5, when she wraps things up in Paris.
Bryan also released his latest album — his eighth, “Mind of a Country Boy” — in September, which includes his 31st number one country hit, “Love You, Miss You, Mean It.” His U.S. tour, with over 30 dates scheduled, launches on May 29 in Bethel, New York.
Before his big tour, Bryan will return for an eighth season of “American Idol,” premiering on March 9. Richie will also return as country star — and former “Idol” winner — Carrie Underwood replaces Perry.

After seven seasons as a judge on “American Idol” with Bryan and Lionel Richie, Perry announced in early 2024 that she would be leaving the show to work on new music and launch a world tour.
“I mean, I love ‘Idol’ so much,” Perry told Jimmy Kimmel on his late-night show in February, stunning fans. “I know. It’s connected me with, like, the heart of America. But I feel like I need to go out and feel that pulse, that pulse to my own beat.”
“She’s got a baby and she’s got a family, got new music, and it’s going to be amazing,” Richie told Entertainment Tonight that April. “I’m pulling for her. I told her, ‘If you need help on the road, Luke and I will be right there.’”
Ahead of her “Lifetimes” tour, Perry has two other big concerts to plan for. On January 30, she’s one of the featured performers at the FireAid Benefit Concert to raise funds for victims of the Los Angeles wildfires. And on February 8, she will perform at opening ceremony for the Invictus Games in Vancouver — a week-long sporting competition, similar to the Olympics, for wounded military veterans co-created by Prince Harry.
