Actor Matthew McConaughey has debuted a new look in a television commercial teaser for Uber Eats, and he’s “unrecognizable,” according to People Magazine.
According to People, McConaughey is meant to resemble former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka in the Super Bowl ad. In the ad, the actor wears his “hair combed back, a button down and tie underneath a Bears crewneck sweater and, most importantly, a thick mustache,” People reported.
Uber Eats shared the 30-second spot on YouTube and wrote, “Matthew McConaughey becomes Mike Ditka.”

The ad shows McConaughey, dressed like Ditka, and staring at himself in a mirror, while saying repeatedly, with different intonations, “Da Bears.”
Over and over again, he uses the phrase before putting on a pair of Ditka-like sunglasses.
The phrase was also popularized in a famous Saturday Night Live skit of Bears’ fans. According to People, the ad is meant to be a teaser for Uber Eats’ full-length Super Bowl ad, which will air on Feb. 9.

Fans responded positively to the spot on the Uber Eats YouTube page comment thread.
“Now my wife will finally join me and be a BEARS fan!!” a person joked.
“Good transformation! Please get yourself to Soldier Field and lead DA BEARS to a winning season,” wrote another person.
“HOMERUN AD,” wrote another person.
As for the real Ditka? According to Mansion Global, the former Bears’ coach recently found a buyer for his Florida mansion. “The house was listed in early December for $1.375 million. Listing agent Celeste Cunningham of John R. Wood Properties said they found a buyer in less than two weeks,” the site reported.
“Not only was the Ditkas’ home priced competitively, offering a great value for a Naples home with outstanding features, but the fact that an American Legend resided in it helped as well with a quick sale,” she said, according to Mansion Global.
In November 2024, Ditka’s family told the Chicago Sun-Times that he was back in Chicago but disputed social media rumors that the iconic coach was in hospice care.
“I can’t tell you how happy I am to finally be home, to be back, although it was mighty cold when we got off the private plane at Midway Airport a few nights ago,” he said, according to Fox News.
