Hallmark star Jodie Sweetin shared a wild story on a recent podcast episode. The story had a good ending but could have ended very differently. While filming an episode of “Full House” as a child, she ended up alone in a casino for several hours.
Jodie Sweetin Got Separated From Her Group
Sweetin shared the story during the January 27 episode of her “How Rude, Tanneritos!” podcast with Andrea Barber. While rewatching an old “Full House” episode, Sweetin shared a real-life story she experienced while filming.
The “Full House” episode they rewatched was “Viva Las Joey.” It was episode seven in season four. The original air date was in November 1999, and Wayne Newton was a guest star on the episode.
Sweetin explained that during some downtime, a big group of people, including her mom and herself, went up to the top floor of their Vegas hotel where Elvis had stayed.
“At the end of it, they pushed the call button for the elevator and the elevator doors opened, and I was like, ‘All right, let’s go.’ So I walked into the back of the elevator and then like a bunch of people got in behind me. But my mom was not one of those people,” Sweetin shared.
She continued, “So it goes all the way down to the casino floor and I was like, ‘I guess I’ll get out here.’” Rather than ask for help, Sweetin said she “was just kind of wandering around.”
Eventually. she made her way to the hotel room of the teacher who had traveled with them, and they reconnected with her mom that way.
Sweetin recalled, “I was terrified because I’d been lost in Las Vegas for like two and a half hours at nine or 10 years old.”
Sweetin’s Mom Had Also Been Terrified
As terrified as Sweetin was when she was lost, it seems her mother was even more scared. Once her mom learned where she was, she ran to catch up to her daughter.
Sweetin noted her mom later pointed out that not only was her daughter quite young while she was wandering around the casino, but she was also well known. Had Sweetin come across the wrong person, things could have turned out very badly.
The Hallmark alum joked, “I was fine. And, you know, got lost in Vegas many more times after that.”
