Meghan Markle, Jessica Alba, and Kerry Washington bonded over a “new moon” spiritual ceremony celebrating Alba’s birthday.
That’s according to a TikTok video posted by Alba of the gathering. Although she doesn’t mention Markle, you can see the Duchess of Sussex sitting at the table and smiling during the ceremony, which involved crystals and candles.
“We are going to do a new moon ceremony,” Alba announced at the beginning of the video.
“Happy Born Day to my girl #KerryWashington 🥳🎂,” Alba captioned the video. “There’s nothing like that fill your cup type of #girls night 💗.”
“Under the New Moon in Aquarius, we came together for a beautiful ceremony led by Jill, founder of @Spirit Daughter 🌑✨ New moons are a time for fresh starts … and this night was just that. The Women Were ‘Letting Go’ During the Spiritual Ceremony

The woman who led the ceremony explained the process in Alba’s TikTok video.
“This is the first new moon of 2025. It’s extremely powerful; it’s a really powerful portal for manifestations,” she said. “Not all new moons are this aligned for manifestations; this one, the intentions you sent can manifest at rapid speed like you wouldn’t even believe.”
She added: “It’s also a time to release. We’re letting go. We’re stepping fully into a new year because it’s the first new moon of the year so we are completely letting go of the past and allowing this new energy to enter into our lives.”

Alba’s video also showed Alba with a child and a table covered with candles and crystals. People Magazine noted that Markle “sat cross-legged on the floor with her eyes closed at a table with crystals in what seemed to be a group mediation.”
The women wrote in journals that were labeled “intention setting.”
At one point, they put their hands on their noses, and Alba brought plates of doughnuts with candles in them into the room.
According to People Magazine, Markle has hung out with Washington before. Both are friends with Tyler Perry, People reported. Washington and Markle both attended a Beyonce concert in 2023, according to People. They also hung out at the 2024 Paley Honors Fall Gala where Perry was being recognized, according to People.
