RHONY Star Confirms Exit From Show Ahead of Season 16

Rebecca Minkoff will no longer be a cast member on “The Real Housewives of New York City.”  The fashion designer announced her departure from the Bravo reality show in an Instagram post on February 4.

Minkoff was a “friend of” for season 15. The rest of the cast included Brynn Whitfield, Ubah Hassan, Sai De Silva, Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank, Jenna Lyons,  and Racquel Chevremont.

Rebecca Minkoff Wants to Focus on the Things That Mean the Most to Her

In a post shared with her social media followers, Minkoff explained that recent world events inspired her to take a hard look at her busy life.

“2025 is a new beginning for me and with current events in the world I’m reminded the importance of family friends and community now more than ever,” she wrote. “The last month has given me a new perspective on wanting to focus on my wildly amazing 4 kids, my supportive husband, my business of 20 years, The Female Founder Collective, my podcast, and MY BOOK.”

She also thanked Bravo for giving her an opportunity to be on the show and explained that she simply needed to prioritize everything else in her life.

“As much of it as I have learned along the way with this franchise and fans, I want to reprioritize the things that mean the most to me” Designing, giving back, supporting women, and raising my family,” the “Fearless” author explained. “I’m truly grateful for the experience the friendships and the fans that have been part of this RHONY chapter. Time to turn the page.”

Fans reacted to wish Minkoff the best. When one fan wrote, ”You were too classy for that group!,” Minkoff replied with a laughing emoji.

She also posted a heart emoji when a fan noted that she wasn’t given “a fair chance” on the show.

Days before Minkoff confirmed her exit, a production insider told OK magazine that she would “not be returning” for season 16.

Minkoff’s exit announcement comes just after a casting call posted on Shed Media’s Instagram page teased the potential of newcomers for next season.

“Now casting The Real Housewives of New York City. It’s that time…🍎come and get your apple,” the post read in late January.

In a subsequent post on Shed Media’s Instagram stories, the call for potential cast members indicated the company was looking for women who live in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The women should also have an “organic connection to someone on the cast,” the media company noted.

In 2023, “The Real Housewives of New York City” was rebooted for season 14 with an all-new cast. All of the new cast members were invited back for season 15.  Minkoff and Chevremont were both added as newcomers for season 15.
