‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ Renewed For Fourth Season

Jennifer Hudson has come a long way since competing on “American Idol.” In addition to becoming an EGOT winner, she’s carved out her own lane as a successful talk show host. Her eponymous daytime talk show was just renewed for its fourth season, according to Variety.

“It is an unbelievable privilege to spend your days being able to engage with inspiring people from all walks of life; to hear their stories and connect on shared experiences; and to hopefully leave audiences a little more joyful than when they arrived,” Hudson said in a statement. “This show is a testament to what happens when you do what you love, and when you do it alongside an unstoppable team who creates magic in new ways every single day. I’m so excited to take this adventure to new heights in Season 4!”

Hudson kicked off the third season of her talk show with a star-studded lineup, from Angela Bassett and Sofía Vergara to Marlon Wayans. Upcoming guests include Tina Knowles, Regina Hall, Kevin Hart, Anthony Mackie, Coco Jones, Adam Levine, and Big Sean.

Has ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ Won Any Awards?

‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ has earned 10 Emmy nominations, along with two NAACP Image Awards. She’s up for two more NAACP Image Awards in 2025.

In 2024, Hudson won the National Association of Broadcasters TV Chairman’s Award. That same year, she received GLAAD’s Excellence in Media Award for making a difference in within the LGBTQ+ community, according to GLADD.

“It’s nothing like seeing others being blessed from your blessings. That is what the Jennifer Hudson Show represents… bringing everyone together,” she said during her acceptance speech. “I want everyone to feel like they matter [and] have a safe place. Feel celebrated whatever you going through. If you want to be celebrated just know that Jennifer Hudson is gonna cheer you on!”

When Did ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ Premiere?

Premiering on Sept. 12, 2022 (also her 41st birthday), “The Jennifer Hudson Show” took over the time slot of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” following its farewell episode. Simon Cowell, Mickey Guyton, Magic Johnson, and Viola Davis were among Hudson’s early guests.

“I come from a very talkative family. Oh my God, we love talking,” Hudson said during a 2022 interview with Variety. “I’ve been so blessed to do so many things in my career…I want to help someone else have a platform.”

In December 2023, fellow “American Idol” alum Kelly Clarkson celebrated the renewal of her daytime talk show’s seventh season, according to Variety.
