Twenty-five years after its release, “Coyote Ugly” is still appreciated for birthing classic lines like “We don’t serve water here!” and an incredibly irresistible soundtrack. Inspired by the real Coyote Ugly Saloon chain, the storyline revolves around aspiring singer Violet (played by Piper Perabo), who finds her confidence while working at a bar and working alongside other women.
“That story of a young person with a dream who takes a big leap is something we can all relate to,” Perabo said during a 2020 interview with Nine.com. “So even if the songs we’re dancing to are 20 years old, people can relate to that dream, and especially now when we’re shelter in place and everybody misses going to the bars it’s the perfect movie.”
Ahead of the film’s 25th anniversary, the “Coyote Ugly” cast is reuniting for a pretty special reason. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the exciting reunion is set to happen on Feb. 26 at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica.

Why Is The ‘Coyote Ugly’ Cast Reuniting?
The “Coyote Ugly” cast — Perabo, Tyra Banks, Maria Bello, Bridget Moynahan, Izabella Miko, and Melanie Lynskey — and the film’s producer Jerry Bruckheimer will host a 35mm screening, followed by a Q&A session. Two-time Grammy winner LeAnn Rimes, who performed the “Coyote Ugly” theme song “Can’t Fight the Moonlight,” will also attend the event.
Proceeds from the screening will go toward the nonprofit organization Global Empowerment Mission, which will help those impacted by the Los Angeles fires, which left over 100,000 people displaced, according to The New York Times.
What Has Tyra Banks Said About Losing Her Home In The California Wildfires?
During a January 2025 appearance on “Sunrise,” an Australian morning show, Banks opened up about losing her LA home in the California wildfires.
“We were at a friend’s house here and we were celebrating just having fun. I kept checking my phone, not for my house, but for friends and family, making sure they were evacuating and everything,” the supermodel said on “Sunrise.” “And then I asked my partner, I was like, ‘I’m seeing something here, what do you think?’ and he [nodded].”
Banks added, “I just pulled it together and just didn’t say anything to my friends and just stayed in that moment, and then we went home and we cried and we had our moment.”
