The latest episode of When Calls the Heart premieres Sunday night, February 23. Season 12 episode 8 is called “The Show Must Go On.” Read on to see some minor spoilers, a trailer and sneak peek, and photos from the new episode.
An Illness Puts Rosemary’s Play at Risk of Being Canceled
In Hallmark’s trailer, we learn that Rosemary is turning her production into a radio play. But right before it’s supposed to premiere, the leads are all getting sick!
And based on this sneak peek, the illness is going to play a big role in the episode. Mike is the first to get a scratchy throat and cough, and Ava suggests that he visits the hot springs to feel better and warm up his vocal cords. But it looks like things won’t be going as planned.
The synopsis reads: “Rosemary’s play gets a new venue and a new cast. Elizabeth takes her curriculum to the airwaves. Faith helps a friend make a big decision, and Lucas faces unexpected opposition.”

It looks like we will also see more of Lucas and Edie in this episode. And Nathan and Elizabeth are going to have some fun conversations about their undercover party.
But at some point, things are going to get more difficult for Hope Valley residents. McGarry recently teased that a big challenge is coming for Nathan and Elizabeth that is “very poignant” to the 1921 timeframe.
“Not only does it shatter their world, it shatters the entire community,” McGarry told Swooon.
