To lend a hand to one of their favorite charities, HGTV stars Ben and Erin Napier have brought back a fan favorite to their shops.
The “Season of Hope” candle they could barely keep in stock in 2023 is back for a second holiday season to help raise money for The Salvation Army. The “Home Town” stars were in New York on December 3, 2024, to support the organization on Giving Tuesday and to promote the new & improved candle, with a new candle tray crafted by Ben.
Erin Napier Created Candle With Favorite Holiday Scent in Mind

The Napiers serve as ambassadors for The Salvation Army, which has worked to serve those in need around the world since the 1800s. In addition to volunteering at their local shelter and ringing the bell outside stores each holiday season, the couple also raises funds through the shops they own in their hometown of Laurel, Mississippi.
For the Scent Library, where Erin oversees the development of countless candles and accessories, she developed the Season of Hope candle in 2023 to honor the “hope that The Salvation Army and its supporters bring to those in need,” per a press release.
“This scent is very personal to me,” she said in a statement. “It reminds me of the hope and comfort I felt in my home as a child during the holiday season making orange and clove pomanders with my mama. It’s a feeling that every child and family deserves to have this holiday season.”
Since the candle was so popular in 2023, she told Fox News on December 3 that it’s been repackaged and is back on their shelves, both in Laurel and available online for $27.99. In 2024, they added a wooden candle tray, designed by Ben in his woodshop, for $14.99. Proceeds from both items benefit The Salvation Army and will only be available through the holidays.
Ben & Erin Napier Say They’ve Been Giving to The Salvation Army Since They Were Kids
In November 2022, Erin said on the organization’s “Love Beyond” podcast that being able to give to the Salvation Army when she was little helped her realize the importance of giving back.
“That was the first donation I ever made in my life, you know, putting change in the bucket when I was a little girl,” Erin remembered. “For both of us, that was our first introduction to how there is a great big world out there that’s bigger than yourself. And you have the power to help somebody.”
The Napiers reiterated that message during a December 3 appearance in New York on “Fox & Friends,” with Ben saying, “It’s such a part of our growing up for Erin and I. Every grocery store you go in, every street corner, you hear the bell. And (as kids) it was our first chance at charity, at giving.”
“The Salvation Army works with … 27 million people a year, so it’s huge,” he continued. “It’s incredible and it starts at such a small point.”
“A little child could give a quarter,” Erin interjected, “or we could give a lot more.”
