Ariana Madix is not planning to make a return as a reality TV star following Bravo’s decision to reboot “Vanderpump Rules” with an all-new cast for season 12.
Days after the “Vanderpump Rules” cast shakeup was announced, Madix, 39, told The New York Post she feels “good” now that the casting news is out there. Madix also had a quick answer when asked if she would consider a return to reality TV. “Am I hosting?” she asked, before noting she would “absolutely not” join a reality competition show or have a show centered around herself. “I’ll host it,” she reiterated. “It’s not about me.”
According to People magazine, Madix previously said she would only consider a return to “Vanderpump Rules” if it made “sense” for her to do so. “Our show has always thrived, it’s always at its best when it is at its most authentic and its most real, and I have to be able to show up and be real and be authentic in order for it to make sense for me,” she said in May. “So that’s the question I would be asking myself going into it.”
Madix was a main cast member on “Vanderpump Rules” for nine seasons starting in 2014. In November 2024, Bravo made the decision to recast the series with a new group of staffers at Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR Restaurant & Lounge.
Ariana Madix Will Continue with Acting & Hosting
Despite the end of her run on “Vanderpump Rules,” Madix will have plenty on her plate in the new year. She will serve as the host of “Love Island U.S.A.” for season 7 following a successful stint on the show last summer, per a City Media press release.
Speaking with Extra TV in December 2024, she said she had several other projects in the works. “I filmed my first guest star [on] ‘Will Trent’ and that will be coming out in March, I believe,” she said. “I’ll be with Keltie [Knight] at the Lady Gang Lady Fest in Florida. There’s a lot going on, a lot going on, and hopefully a little bit of rest as well.”
Ariana Madix Is ‘Feeling Great’ About Leaving ‘Vanderpump Rules’
Madix said she’s happy the news about “Vanderpump Rules” has finally been made public. She told Us Weekly, “I was just relieved that the public finally was privy to the conversations that we had been having. It’s nice that that news is out there and yeah, now I don’t have to sit here holding that.”
The former Bravo star told Extra she’s feeling “great” about moving on from “Vanderpump Rules.” She also noted that she co-owns the Something About Her sandwich shop with her former co-star Katie Maloney and she welcomed the new cast to stop in.
“If they start filming and they need to have an argument and they want to have it over a sandwich they are welcome to argue over our sandwiches,” Madix joked of the “Vanderpump Rules” newcomers.
