Grieving the loss of his “great friend and stunt double,” Hallmark star Ser’Darius Blain has asked his fans to support the family of Curtis Lyons, who performed and coordinated stunts on dozens of series and movies, per IMDb, including “Guardians of the Galaxy 3,” “Black Adam” and “Tyler Perry’s A Madea Homecoming,” for which he was Perry’s stunt double.
In Blain’s Instagram Stories on December 7, 2024, he shared a photo of Lyons suited up in a New York Jets uniform for a recent role. Over it, he wrote, “Curtis…my dawg, my brother, I will miss you forever. I love you, man.”
In a second Instagram Story, the “Christmas on Call” star wrote, “My great friend and stunt double, Curtis Lyons passed away unexpectedly 2 days ago. His family was not prepared for this so if you could help share his go fund me, it would greatly help his wife and kids.”

In Blain’s second Instagram Story on December 8, he shared a link to a GoFundMe campaign created by Lyons’ wife, Lisa. According to IMDb, the couple married in 2013 and have two children.
“On December 6th we lost our dear Curtis Lyons,” she wrote on the GoFundMe page, “a wonderful husband, father, friend and family member, a man whose amazing talent, spirit and strength impacted so many. If you would like to contribute to the his final arrangements, it will ensure that his family is able to give him a home going befitting such an incredible man.”
Within four hours of the page going live on December 8, over $9,000 of the page’s $40,000 goal had been raised.
Lyon and Blain had known each other since their early career work on projects including 2011’s “Footloose” and 2013’s “Star Trek Into Darkness.”
Curtis Lyons’ family has not released the cause of his death, but the GoFundMe page says a service will be held in his honor on December 13.
Ser’Darius Blain Has Been Open About Personal Challenges & Professional Successes in 2024
Despite lots of professional successes — including starring in “Christmas on Call” and the premiere of his new Hallmark+ series, “Holidazed” — Blain shared on Instagram in late October that he’d had a “hellish” few weeks.
However, he was thrilled to share in the post that he’d be returning for “Jumanji 3,” set to be released in theaters on December 11, 2026.
Sharing a screenshot of a Deadline article on the movie, Blain wrote, “‘What the hell man?!’ LFG @jumanjimovie It’s been a hellish couple of weeks on my end personally but stuff like this lifts your spirits.”
Blain, who plays Anthony “Fridge” Johnson in the popular movie series, continued, “And to think, I almost left this audition because I didn’t feel like I was there right fit… Mindset is such a huge part of our journey…back to the jungle we go…#jumanjiMovie”
