Actor Dick Van Dyke and his wife, Arlene Silver, have evacuated their Malibu home after a wildfire broke out in the area.
“Arlene and I have safely evacuated with our animals except for Bobo escaped as we were leaving. We’re praying he’ll be ok and that our community in Serra Retreat will survive these terrible fires,” Van Dyke posted on Facebook on December 10.
The “Mary Poppins” star, who will turn 99 on Friday, December 13, shared a video of his pet cat, Bobo, a short while later. “Hoping Bobo is ok,” he wrote on Facebook.
According to Cal Fire’s official website, the Franklin Fire is affecting 3,893 acres in Los Angeles County. The wildfire started on December 9 and is currently 0% contained. The fire is spreading around Malibu Canyon Rd., Malibu Creek State Park.
Per ABC 7, an eyewitness said that the house across the street from Van Dyke completely burned to the ground.

Well wishes poured in on Van Dyke’s Facebook post from fans far and wide.
“Thank goodness you are safe , hopefully your loved pet Bobo will be found safe too . Praying for everyone , and animals affected,” one person wrote.
“Stay safe Mr. Van Dyke, we need your smiling face and humor in this world,” someone else added.
“I will pray for you and your four legged buddy to come back home. God will be watching over you and your dog. I’m glad you’re safe and I will definitely pray for your dog,” a third comment read.
“I’ve been so worried about you and your family, as I know you are in that area. I’m glad you’re safe and I will keep a good thought for Bobo. I’m sure he will be found,” a fourth Facebook user said.
Thousands of People Will Need to Evacuate the Area if They Haven’t Already
Van Dyke and Silver aren’t the only people who have needed to evacuate their homes due to the wildfire. Local authorities have told more than 20,000 people to evacuate, according to CNBC.
The particular area is home to many celebrities, including Cher, Beyonce and Jay Z, Jonah Hill, Julia Roberts, and Lady Gaga.
The New York Times confirmed that Cher had evacuated and checked into a hotel as of Monday, December 9. It is unclear which other celebrities were in their homes and needed to evacuate.
