So, if, the crescent is sighted in India on March 30 evening, Eid will be on March 31. And if it is not sighted on March 30, Eid will automatically be on March 31.Similarly, in Saudi Arabia, the crescent sighting will be on March 29. If sighted, Eid in Saudi Arabia will be on March 30. Otherwise, on March 31. Hence in Saudi Arabia, Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated on March 30 or 31.Eid 2025: Why is moon sighting important?The date of Eid-ul-Fitr is determined by the cycle of the moon. Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated the next after the recent is sighted. For instance, if the moon is sighted on March 30, Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated the next day, March 31.
