Hwang In-youp and Lee Yoo-mi may take center stage in this new K-drama titled I Give It to You (also known as A Dream to You). According to media reports, the actors have been approached for the lead roles in the project, which is under review status from both parties. And while Hwang In-youp’s agency, KN Studio, has confirmed the offer to the actor, no statement has been made by Lee Yoo-mi’s agency yet.I Give It to You is a romantic comedy drama about two people from different walks of life whose lives (in unexpected ways) intersect when fate plays a role. Their chance encounter sets the stage for a new journey as sparks fly and they fall for each other after years of walking their own roads in pursuit of dreams and shaping their lives.
Lee Yoo-mi has been offered the role of Lee Jae, a reporter whose life thus far has been one of ambition, reality checks, and self-discovery. She evolves from a teen with big dreams to a cynical twenty-something struggling to stay afloat and finally to a thirty-something who’s learned to find comfort in routine and made peace with her ordinary life.
Hwang In-youp, on the other side, has been offered to play the role of Su Bin, a film director who went against the odds and mostly his family’s wishes to follow his heart. Now in his 30s, he’s well established, living his dreams. His life is a sharp contrast to Lee Jae’s, highlighting the different choices they’ve made and the roads they’ve taken.
Their realities create an interesting narrative of contrasts, and as they fall deeply in love, it connects their two different worlds. Their relationship gives them comfort, support, and inspiration, and their love injects a renewed sense of purpose in their lives.
If the actors join the production, I Give It to You will be Hwang In-youp’s next project following a special appearance in the upcoming drama Dear X, with Kim Yoo-jung, Kim Young-dae, Kim Do-hoon, and Lee Yul-eum. As for Lee Yoo-mi, the show will follow her acclaimed portrayal in the hit series Mr. Plankton, with Woo Do-hwan, which also became one of our 10 best K-dramas of 2024.
