Early Life
After watching Jace Moody perform on stage for the first time, his grandmother exclaimed, “Of all my grandchildren, I never expected you to be the one to stand in front of everyone and perform!” Growing up in Yorkshire, England, Jace was the shy child compared to his boisterous sister. he says “So shy I couldn’t even have a conversation with my uncle,” “When I used to play soccer, I would get physically ill before a game.” Now with a flip through Jace’s current portfolio, it’s hard to believe that painfully shy kid ever existed.
Jace’s ascent to the pages of glossy publications and fronting luxury campaigns came about in part by chance, but more by the Hull native’s determinedness to give every opportunity a devoted shot. After suffering a knee injury while playing soccer at his Tennessee university, Jace returned to England and took a marketing job. Though the gig made him a well-heeled 21-year-old by any standard, he began to feel there was something more on the horizon. Jace soon moved to London on a whim to try his hand at modeling after meeting a family friend working in fashion. Later, an encounter with IMG Models’ president, Ivan Bart, brought him to New York and jumpstarted his career.
Upon landing in NYC, Jace became a regular editorial face shooting for V Man, Another Man and Rollacoaster magazine among others. Most recently, he posed for a Ben Sherman ad campaign and starred in Coach’s short film for the F/W 2017 season. But beyond a perfectly squared jaw, Jace also totes the titles of screenwriter and actor. Jace co-wrote and starred in the acclaimed 2016 short film “Heavy Weight” that explores masculinity in a hyper-masculine space. This year, Jace’s second movie, Mirrorless, will release. In addition to his on-screen appearances, Jace recently starred in the London play “Nothing to Perform.”Off-duty, Jace continues to play soccer and spend time with friends in his new home base of Brooklyn. and His on-screen debut was in the award winning short film “Heavyweight”, followed by his London stage debut in the play “Nothing To Perform”.
