Listen to Kahleation’s “Let It Go”: The Ones

Kahleation: “Let It Go”Atlanta hothead Kahleation is having the worst night ever on “Let It Go.” He heads to a venue to go to a show, learns his name isn’t on the list, and spirals. “Mad as shit, I’m just walkin’ up in that bitch,” he growls, sounding like a prepubescent DMX over a rattling flip of the Carti song of the same name. He doesn’t actually storm right into the club like he says—instead he offers the bouncer a $20 bribe and gets turned down. Then he phones his friend inside who has suddenly gone ghost. He takes the L and moseys over to another party, where he takes too much molly and has to call a car and leave. He’s so specific and so annoyed that you just know he must’ve recorded the song as soon as he got home: The Atlanta rap world meets the petty inconveniences of Curb Your Enthusiasm. With artists releasing songs at a fast and furious pace, it’s difficult for the average hip-hop head to keep track of it all—no matter how tapped in they are. That’s why we created The Ones, a daily post to highlight the song you need to hear.Check out previous Ones, and listen to new rap from Kahleation more on our Spotify playlist.
