Lucas will be unable to perform in the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival, which is scheduled for November 15-16.
The news came as a blow in a brief statement issued by the festival organizers, who explained that the reason was due to unforeseen circumstances involving delays in the government visa policy and that regardless of their best efforts to resolve the issue, they were unable to do so in time for the festival.
Lucas would have made his debut in India at the Cherry Blossom Festival. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone India, the singer emphasized his delight ahead of the event, adding, “I am incredibly grateful for the overwhelming love and support from my fans in India! Your energy inspires me every day, and I can’t wait to perform for you. It’s a dream come true to share my music with you all, and I hope to create unforgettable memories together.”
The supergroup SuperM member, a 25-year-old rapper-singer-dancer and K-pop star made a comeback this year with his solo debut single album, Renegade (April 1, 2024).
Lucas was slated to take the stage at the music festival on November 15 alongside an eclectic lineup of international and homegrown artists, including Akon, Boney M, Jasleen Royal, Jessie Lyngdoh, The Great Society, and many others.
