Lisa Jayne is an artist, an inventor of the extraordinary, she started her career studying Art and Design specialising in Fashion and Textiles.
After graduating from London college of Fashion, Lisa worked in Fashion Retail Management/Visual Merchandising for 3 years, where she worked with young Fashion Brands, Designer brands, and Niche brands, it was there she learnt the art of display to generate sales. She felt she wanted to pursue a more creative job and left to attend Kensington & Chelsea college where she studied Millinery.
Lisa’s love for design and creating has been with her since childhood, following school she studied Art & Design, where she specialized in Fashion & Textiles. She always knew she wanted to work in Fashion but she was unsure in which genre as she loved to design all aspects of a woman’s attire.
Whilst on an unemployment scheme she attended business courses where she was encouraged to become self employed, this is when she began her own label ‘Lisa Jayne Millinery’ (LJM)
She has been featured in many International magazines, Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, OK, Hello, Sunday Times, Daily Mail, The Independent,The Mirror and many more, Her designs have been seen on catwalks, she has been interviewed by Fashion TV, featured on International news, attended fashion shows, exhibited at ‘London Hat Week’ and other festivals.
She offer Couture headwear, ‘Fabulous hats for fabulous women’ using luxury materials, designs hand made by her in my studio, a design exclusive to everyone.
Since beginning Lisa Jayne Millinery, she found a passion for styling photo shoots, she began styling by default, the team had everything except a stylist, she found a passion for creating/directing the shoots from initial mood board ideas to creative direction, also directing post production. Lisa has been fortunate to work with amazing talents who have been receptive to her ideas and also contribute with their own.
She says she love catwalk headwear! Taking part in shows is her favorite part of the job and she have enjoyed collaborating with every designer that she had the chance to work with. It is great to be able to be inspired by their themes and their collections but it can also be challenging; many designers have an idea of the kind of headwear they want which can limit her creativity but one have to respect that.
She told her most favourite collaboration was with Salita Nanda as it was her first collection which was presented at the NextGenLakme Fashion Week and was featured on Vogue.com. It was a thrilling experience, her designs were inspired by Picasso and were so inspirational and she was allowed creative freedom.
