Mumbai-bred, Goa-based electronic artist OX7GEN aka Aditya Ashok joins the list of DJ-producers starting their own record label as he launches his new EP Stomp Nouveau as the debut offering from Fresh Air Records.
OX7GEN’s four-track EP, released on Apr. 30, 2025, was preceded by the single “Cruise Control” featuring Anushka Menon (who goes by her first name as an artist). Anushka sings on the track, “Not looking for nobody/ To get me in the mood/ Selector got me locked in place and I just wanna cruise.” OX7GEN adds in his statement, “She basically tells the world to fuck off so she can dance in peace.” The track was also part of the artist’s Boiler Room set in Goa in December 2024, playing to a packed room with Anushka adding to the hype.
The EP opens with “I/O,” driven by a four-on-the-floor click and deep bass synths, among other elements. OX7GEN says, “‘I/O has been a mainstay in my sets for the last three years. I was saving it for something special, and I’m glad to have it out on the first release of my own label.”

Later on, tracks like “Sentinels” focus on complex beats and synth layers, with a keyboard line that keeps on building the anticipation. A press release describes the closing track “Wolves II” as “very much like a techno avatar of OX7GEN’s earlier drum & bass sound, bridging the energies of the genres, effortlessly.”
The DJ-producer and drummer says in a statement, “This EP is a special one for me as I start a new journey with the label—Fresh Air Records. The four tunes on this release are all quite different from each other, yet have that distinct OX7GEN sound. Fresh Air Records is also very much a space for me to write and release whatever I want to, without pigeonholing the label into specific genres. Expect quirky, fierce and emotive music across the spectrum.”
