Qutbi Brothers are the inheritors of over 800 years of qawwali tradition that developed and grew over several generations by great masters in the Indian music scene. They are an Astana singers at the mausoleum (Dargah) of Hazrat Qutbuddin Bakhtiar Kaki r.a. in Delhi, where they have been given the eponymous prestige of calling himself the Qutbi.

Biography, Career profile and discography

Haji Mohammad Idris and Arshad Hussain, Popularly known as Qutbi Brothers. They started singing at a very early age and today they are one of the most sought-after qawwali singers in the Sufi styles, Astana gayki, and the modern qawwali tradition in India. Qutbi Brothers are the world’s first Qawwals who have created the World Record in which they performed 12 hrs continuously for Adhyatmik Yatra Sufi Rang Sham Se Seher Tak on 12 November 2016 at Sangeet Natak Akademi in New Delhi by singing for 12 hours continuously. They even created a record in the Limca Book of World Records for their contribution towards Sufi qawwali. Qutbi Brothers have earned the Top Grade level of artistry, as recognized by All India Radi (Akashwani). Apart from this, Qutbi Brothers are also Empaneled with ICCR and the Ministry of Culture (India). They can sing compositions in Urdu, Hindi, Persian, Punjabi written by poet-saints such as Amir Khusrau, Baba Farid, Bulleh Shah, Kabir, and Meera among others. In their career spanning several decades, They have never failed to mesmerize audiences both in India and abroad at multiple music shows and festivals. They have even performed in front of India’s former president, late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at Humayun Tomb, Delhi. 

For their work and contribution in the field of Qawwali, Qutbi Brothers have received several awards such as Genius Indian Achiever's Award (For World Record Contribution), Special Prize from Parliament House (India), Atal Bihari Award 2019, Rajiv Gandhi Award, Ghulam Mustafa Khan Award 2020 and among others.

They recently performed in Gujrat at a fundraiser to support 40 CRPF Braveheart’s Families of Pulwama Terror Attack.
