Resul Pookutty
Resul Pookutty (conceived 30 May 1971) is an Indian film sound planner, sound proofreader and sound blender. He won the Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing, alongside Richard Pryke and Ian Tapp, for Slumdog Millionaire. Pookutty has worked in Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam dialects notwithstanding British movies.
Early life
Naturally introduced to a family in Vilakkupara, close to Anchal around 40 km from Kollam, Kerala, India. He was the most youthful of ten kids. His dad was a confidential transport ticket checker. Pookutty needed to walk 6 km to the closest school and concentrate in the radiance of a lamp fuel light as his town had no power.
He did his four year certification in material science from Milad-E-Sherief Memorial College, Kayamkulam during 1987-1990. He joined Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram for concentrating on Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, notwithstanding, he couldn’t finish it. In 1995, he moved on from Film and Television Institute of India in Pune. In 2014, he composed the leftover LLB test papers. Pookutty said that it was his dad’s longing to make him a backer.
Career
Pookutty moved to Mumbai after his graduation. He named it as “a characteristic movement as an alum of the foundation.” He brought up that “95% of the experts of the Mumbai movie industry are graduated class of FTII, Pune.” Pookutty made his presentation in sound plan with the 1997 movie Private Detective: Two Plus Two Plus One, coordinated by Rajat Kapoor. He stumbled upon the opportunity of a lifetime with the widely praised 2005 movie Black, coordinated by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He accordingly designed sound for significant creations like Musafir (2004), Zinda (2006), Traffic Signal (2007), Gandhi, My Father (2007), Saawariya (2007), Dus Kahaniyaan, Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja (2009) and Enthiran (2010).
Personal life
Pookutty is married to Shadia. They have a son Rayaan and a daughter, Salna.
