Jodhpur is set to transform into a musical haven this February as the iconic Mehrangarh Fort hosts the 16th edition of the Sacred Spirit Festival (SSF).
Organized by the Mehrangarh Museum Trust, the festival will run from February 14 to 16, 2025, bringing together music enthusiasts from around the world for an extraordinary cultural experience.
Announcing the event, His Highness Maharaja Gajsingh II of Marwar-Jodhpur shared his enthusiasm: “The Sacred Spirit Festival is a testament to the unifying power of music. Against the backdrop of the majestic Mehrangarh Fort, this festival blends centuries-old traditions with global influences, offering attendees a vibrant fusion of history, culture, and spirituality.”

The festival will feature a diverse lineup of artists, with performances by renowned Rajasthani musicians and international talents. Highlights include Padma Shri awardees Anwar Khan Manganiyar and Talab Khan Manganiyar, Ghanaian musician Osei Kwame Korankye, the Puliyattam Tiger Dance from Tamil Nadu, the Sufi Deba tradition of the Comoro Islands, and the Dudukner Ensemble from Armenia. Additional performances will showcase Carnatic icons Ranjini and Gayatri, French artist Perrine Bourel, and the Queen Sisters, among others.
Artistic Director Alain Weber emphasized the festival’s immersive theme: “This year, the festival delves into the connection between music, nature, and spirituality, highlighting how traditions bridge time and space. From the soulful rhythms of Rajasthan’s Khartal and Kamaicha to the Adivasi Puliyattam dance honoring nature, the festival invites audiences to feel the music with their hearts and souls.”

A unique aspect of the Sacred Spirit Festival is its focus on collaboration. By blending the deep-rooted traditions of Rajasthani folk music with global influences, the event creates spellbinding performances that capture the crowd. “These cross-cultural exchanges lead to immersive experiences for both artists and audiences, showcasing the universality of music as a language of connection and harmony,” added Maharaja Gajsingh II.
